The "Cat's" Meow

Saturday Ridha helped celebrate the opening of the Phat Cat’s Jazz Club and it was a night of elegance and romantic music. It seemed as if Ridha sang to every person’s heart as he intertwined a stunning mix of love songs featuring many different countries. All in attendance agreed, Ridha is the “Cat’s Meow.”

Roseland Blues!

The gremlins of Second Life tried their best to disrupt this evenings concert but Ridha would have nothing to do with it. He plugged on and with a little help from his friends... within 10 minutes, SL was humming again and so was the packed dance floor!

We Are Sailing

Somewhere beyond the sea
She's there watching for me
If I could fly like birds on high
Then straight to her arms I'd go sailing

Ridha touches all of us at every concert like a treasure that has washed up on shore. He started the show in Horan with three “sea” songs and this image popped into my head. It was an amazing show.

I think that most people who meet Ridha in Second Life would look at this quote and see Ridha in it.

“If out of all mankind one finds a single friend, he has found something more precious than any treasure, since there is nothing in the world so valuable that it can be compared to a real friend.”
Andreas Capellanus

We all love you Ridha.

Listen to the Magic!

Just when we think Ridha has no more musical rabbits to pull out of his magic hat…he has a concert like tonight in Hiriam. Ridha introduced twelve new songs to the crowd and they loved them all. Like the skilled “Wizard of Melody” that he is, Ridha kept the audience in amazement as song after song flowed from his keyboard. It was a night of magic indeed!

Ridha Plays Close to Home

Milan, Italy boasts itself the fashion center of the world. The leading designers of apparel and accessories are headquartered or have major operations here, including Gucci, Prada, Armani, Versace, and Dolce & Gabbana.

This city also is proud to say it has the third largest church in the world, the cathedral Duomo.

Milan is also know for its beautiful opera house Teatro alla Scalla, Italy’s most famous opera house and one of the most celebrated in all of Europe.

This evening Ridha played in the Second Life SIM of Milano, which is recreation of this beautiful Italian city. What a concert! Ridha had the fans in the palm of his hands as his masterfully took the audience on a musical coaster ride. So many different genres’, so much wonderful music. I think my favorite part was when Ridha sang two incredible Italian songs at the end of the night and all avatars just stood and looked at the stage. A hush came over the crowd as Ridha’s voice lifted to the great towers of the Duomo Cathedral.

Of special note, Ridha’s friend and lyricist joined Ridha at his RT studio for the show. It was especially wonderful knowing he was there to share this special night with all of us.

Let's Do the Ridha Rock!

Get yourself a limbo girl

Give that chic a limbo whirl

There's a limbo moon above

You will fall in limbo love

Ridha be limbo, Ridha be quick

Ridha go unda limbo stick

All around the limbo clock
Hey, let's do the Ridha rock

Tonight Ridha played for the first time at the Club Limbo and it was a great time. He played some swing and some love songs, but the crowd wanted more. The locale had an effect on him because at one point he broke out into some upbeat Latin numbers and had the crowd rocking and dancing for more. It was a fun concert, but as always too short!!

Peace & Love

Ridha played before a packed (and I mean packed) sim tonight in Horan and the theme via Cathy Basevi’s suggestion was “Peace and Love.” So avatars came out in their red and white finery and danced. People in red represented “Love” and people in white represented “Peace.” Luuk Vanmoer won the Best Dressed contest. The concert itself started uncharacteristically upbeat and slowed down a bit toward the middle. My favorite song of the evening was a lovely rendition of the song “Bakhta.”

Musica

Ridha performed at “Piazza 2 Saturnia” Tuesday evening for the first time and as always pleased the crowd. His “Italian Repertoire” took center stage for this wonderful performances with of course many of his signature pieces folded in for a musical collage that had all wanting for more.

VIVA Ridha

As I sit sipping my coffee ready to meet the 92 degree heat Las Vegas is treating us poor Midwesterners to today, I wanted to take a moment and blog the concert in Hiriam. Though I was not there, all indications were it was an incredible concert (ok people when AREN'T they.) As I listen to the bands playing in the many venues at the entertainment capital of the world, Vegas, I have this observation to share. Enjoy every moment of Ridha...he is all the entertainer these people are and then some and I fear his frequency in SL will be short lived. What an honor it is for us to have this kind of singer right here in Second Life. Viva RIDHA!

Chillin

After the great concert at the Divine Diva’s Nightclub this evening friends gathered together in conversation. It was wonderful and amazing to see people from so many parts of the globe communicating, laughing and sharing. It is so wonderful to share in this way, learning more about peoples cultures and how they are different but more importantly how we are all the same.

Divine Ridha

Ridha played for a packed house of mostly lovely ladies at the grand opening of the Divine Diva’s Night Club. It was amazing! He entertained the mostly American crowd with some great tunes including a few I know I have never personally heard him sing. The crowd really, really loved him and the energy in the room was just amazing. It is funny how, we are people from all over the world looking at computer screens and yet there is such a connection in our lives. As bad as the technology is sometimes..It is still a modern day miracle. Like our Ridha.

Rising Star not Sun

The gremlins were up to their normal Second Life tricks tonight..keeping people from coming to the start of the concert but with much persistence from Ridha’s fans, they made it in. So many highlights for the show for me but one fan mentioned how much he loved Ridha’s rendition of “House of the Rising Sun.” I have to agree. The beauty of a Ridha concert is that no matter how many times you go or even hear him sing the same song—it is never the same. Ridha is not only an artist, but he is schooled IN his art. I have heard very few performers let alone music arrangers that have Ridha’s ability to understand a melody and make it his own. What a treasure we have in our own virtual back yard.

Afterglow Party

After the gig in Horan, Ridha and a bunch of Ridha’s fans came together and talked through the night about music and life. It was so great getting to know everyone and learn more about Ridha. Second Life is great.

“I Am Happy.”

Ridha played before a packed house in Horan tonight and what a night. Things really heated up when he started to play “Ladies Night” and kept on a fever pitch from there on in. The Blues, some Reggae, French love songs and Italian standards were weaved in throughout the evening. It was really a wonderful show and all in attendance will remember this wonderful evening of music Ridha painted for us. As one fan stated during the show “I am happy.” I think that sums it up ☺.

Fashionable Music

Ridha played in Hiriam tonight to a packed house and for a little fun we invited people to come dressed representing their favorite Ridha song. From what I could see the songs Aisha, My Way, Hotel California and Sway were represented, but I know many ladies dressed in beautiful ball gowns to represent the love songs Ridha is so famous for. It was a really fun night. I wonder how you would dress if you dressed as your favorite Ridha tune?

Music

Ridha played at the SIM of Horan last night to a packed audience. As usual his repertoire consisted of love songs with a great disco set thrown in. What a great concert...what a great Ridha!
